Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, is known for pleasant weather and beautiful scenery throughout the year. With over 5,000 years of civilization, it boasts a rich history and culture.

The city is home to a rich array of historical relics and numerous famous ancient sites, with 2,237 cultural relics and 541 cultural heritage units. Among them are 38 units under national key cultural heritage protection.

Jinci Temple, a major scenic area in Taiyuan, integrates ancient Chinese ancestral architecture, gardens, sculptures, murals, and inscriptions, embodying the profound culture and glorious history of Shanxi.

Next to Jinci Temple is the Tianlong Mountain Scenic Area, a historical and cultural site known for its forests, springs, temples, and caves, offering stunning scenery. The Buddha head at the 8th cave of Tianlongshan Grottoes, known as the "smile of Tianlong Mountain," exudes tranquility, serenity, naturalness, and simplicity.

In Taiyuan Ancient County, visitors can walk through the streets and alleys to savor the city's history and culture. They can also explore the Jinyang Ancient City Archaeological Museum, where a simulated archaeological site of Jinyang Ancient City is open to the public.
