The China Taiyuan Culture and Tourism Investment Promotion Conference was held in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on Feb 14, with more than 300 representatives of cultural tourism investment enterprises, travel agencies and industry associations from all over the country in attendance. 

Taiyuan authorities promoted the city's cultural tourist attractions, cultural creativity, and investment projects through a city promo and an exhibition on culture and tourism at the conference, which also saw 67 cultural and tourism projects signed on site, including 38 industry projects with investment of 17 billion yuan ($2.48 billion).

As a national historical, cultural and tourist city, Taiyuan boasts a healthy investment environment and strong development prospects.

In recent years, local authorities have issued a series of preferential policies to promote the development of the cultural and tourism sectors and accelerated the development of an international tourism destination.

The city has formulated targeted measures to support the development of the cultural and tourism sectors in 16 aspects and will allocate 1.3 billion yuan in special funds for investment promotions.
