China's first mining navigation technology laboratory was established at the Taiyuan Research Institute of China Coal Technology and Engineering Group based in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on Oct 3.
The coal mining process is complex, and the surface environment is unreliable, which is why the establishment of an unmanned mining work surface has long been a major milestone for the intelligent transformation of coal mining. Automatic navigation and positioning technology is crucial to the intelligent development of mining equipment.
For more than 10 years, the research institute has devoted itself to the study of mine navigation and positioning methods, participated in academic exchange between international high-level universities and scientific research institutions, accelerated independent research and development, and continued to carry out scientific research and industrial testing.
Relying on navigation and positioning technology, operators can move away from tunnels, ensuring safety and health while working efficiently.
The lab has broadened the scientific research and innovation field of the national engineering laboratories, enhanced the ability of mining navigation technology to test the dynamic and static characteristics at the system level and the core component level, and improved the reliability of mining navigation products in engineering applications.
