The opening ceremony and summit of the 2022 Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum took place in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on Sept 1.

Some 300 guests, including senior officials of relevant United Nations agencies and organizations, some foreign diplomatic envoys in China, officials of State ministries and commissions, academicians, experts, and entrepreneurs in the energy sector, attended the opening ceremony and the summit in person.

On behalf of Shanxi provincial authorities, Lin Wu, Party secretary of the province, welcomed the guests and expressed his gratitude to those who have supported the development of Shanxi and the forum.

Lin said at the opening ceremony that since the establishment of the forum in 2016, Shanxi has taken part in the transformation of global energy patterns, continuous breakthroughs in energy technology, and the accelerated evolution of the energy structure.

He hoped that all parties can familiarize themselves with Shanxi's energy revolution and China's plan to peak carbon emissions and achieve carbon neutrality, inviting people from home and abroad to invest in Shanxi and share the new opportunities brought about by the energy revolution.
