The Xiaodian district of Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, has been committed to developing a multi-support modern services industry since the start of 2022.
It has encouraged local business districts, plazas and shopping malls to carry out night operations and to build nighttime economy clusters, and promoted the development of local services enterprises.
In the first half of the year, 18,813 new business entities were established in Xiaodian, bringing the total to 184,101, an increase of 29.3 percent year-on-year.
To accelerate the transfer and transformation of regional sci-tech achievements and the industrial agglomeration of the sci-tech services industry, Xiaodian has invested more than 8 million yuan ($1.18 million) in building a sci-tech innovation services center.
This provides services covering seven categories and 88 sub-categories in the technology services industry. Its online platform has realized the intelligent matching of policies and a barrier-free connection between policies and enterprises, talent and enterprises, technology and enterprises, and finance and projects.
To date, the Shanxi Academic Society Exchange Center, Shanxi University and Jinshajiang Future Energy Technology Co have established branches in the center.
Xiaodian has also started the construction of a 15-square-kilometer information technology application innovation industrial cluster, which has already attracted eight related businesses to settle there.
Currently, there are more than 6,000 electronics information technology enterprises in the district, generating an annual output value of 5.88 billion yuan and paying annual taxes of about 130 million yuan.
Moving forwards, plans are for the district to build a public services guarantee platform, fully implement policies that bolster its enterprises and continue to optimize its business environment, to get over 100 IT application innovation enterprises to settle in the cluster.
