Taiyuan city, capital of North China's Shanxi province, reported four locally transmitted confirmed cases of COVID-19 epidemic as of noon on Feb 27, with the whole situation being well under control. 

The cases, all in Jiancaoping district, are classmates in Taiyuan No 66 Middle School. They were identified during the implementation of centralized isolation medical observations since Feb 24. 

To thoroughly investigate the potential population that are infected, nucleic acid testing has been carried out in an orderly manner. As of 12:40 on Feb 27, the first round of testing for all people in the district showed negative results and the second round has been ongoing. Related environmental disinfections and sterilizations have also been conducted. 

The city also clarified medical treatment procedures and instructions for people with red and yellow health codes, and identified three designated hospitals in closed control areas and 19 designated hospitals in control areas, to ensure the medical needs of residents. 

In addition, there are 60 nucleic acid testing institutions now open to the public, which are expected to further improve the city's test services. Locals who need tests can consult in advance, while paying attention to their personal protection before and after sampling.
