The 5th IEEE Conference on Energy Internet and Energy System Integration was held in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on Oct 23.

The conference was co-sponsored by the IEEE Power & Energy Society, the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, Taiyuan University of Technology, and Tsinghua University.

Themed around energy internet for carbon neutrality, the conference focused on the theory, path, application demonstration, and practice of energy and power transformation in service of China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, as well as promoting the construction of interconnected, intelligent interactions and a flexible, safe, and controllable new power system.

More than 1,000 experts and representatives from universities, scientific research institutions, and electrical and energy equipment manufacturers from home and abroad attended the conference online and offline, sharing their academic achievements in the development prospects and key technologies of energy and power systems, green development of energy and power, power transmission and distribution solutions, nuclear energy and nuclear safety, and new energy consumption.

A total of 24 technical forums, 70 thesis presentations, and five exchange activities involving cutting-edge academic trends in the fields of energy and electricity were held at the conference.

The conference also collected 1,122 papers from various countries and regions, with 30 outstanding papers and 30 outstanding student papers awarded certificates.

The event was meant to further promote the research and development of key core technologies in China's electrical and energy fields, play an active role in promoting the high-quality development of China's electrical and energy technology, and help achieve China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
