Cultural venues in the city of Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, have recently launched a variety of cultural activities to celebrate the upcoming National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7.

From Oct 1-7, the revolutionary activities memorial hall at the former site of the Shanxi National Normal University will hold a classic movie show.

At the Jinci Museum, visitors will be able to view garden calligraphy stones and inscriptions, wall paintings, and various intangible cultural heritage performances. 

Guandi Temple will hold intangible cultural heritage demonstration and experience activities for paper-cutting, shadow puppetry, clay sculpting, and dough sculpting. 

Visitors can also visit the Taiyuan Museum to appreciate the beauty of Buddhist paintings, grotto art, and blue and white porcelain, learn about the history of Taiyuan, and draw pictures of famous ancient buildings in Taiyuan.
