The Taiyuan munitions factory industrial heritage protection zone is located in Shanxi North Machine Building Co in Xinghualing district of Taiyuan city, capital of North China's Shanxi province, covering 260,000 square meters.

The protection zone features nearly 10,000 industrial heritage items from the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), the Republic of China period (1912-1949) and from after the founding of People's Republic of China in October 1949, 45 of which have been listed as removable national cultural relics. 

Collectively, they have become a part of China's limited industrial heritage.
