Taiyuan Wusu International Airport in Taiyuan, the capital of North China's Shanxi province, started its summer flight season on March 28. The period will last until Oct 30.

The average daily flight volume is expected to reach 297, basically returning to the level of the same period in 2019.

The airport has a total of 27 airlines operating 92 passenger routes and two cargo routes.

From March 28, the airport has added routes to Yanji in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture in Northeast China's Jilin province, and Dongying, a city in East China's Shandong province.

The opening of the new routes expands the airport's network accessibility, further improves its route network layout and creates convenient connections between Shanxi, Shandong and Northeast China.

The routes from Taiyuan to Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province and Lijiang in Southwest China's Yunnan province have been resumed.

In addition, the airport will add flights to key cities and metropolitan areas, such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Wuhan in Central China's Hubei province and Sanya in South China's Hainan province.

The increase in flights between the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Hainan Free Trade Port will further promote the close economic and trade exchanges between Shanxi and the these regions and provide an external channel for Shanxi's economic transformation and development.
