Jinyuan district in Taiyuan city, capital of North China's Shanxi province, has organized a series of online public cultural activities to mark the coming Spring Festival and Lantern Festival.
From Feb 5 to 20, the district will launch various themed activities on the platforms of Jinyuan Culture and Tourism Cloud and Jinyuan district's digital cultural center.
Here are some of the online festival activities:
1. Recommended countryside goods
The district started its online Spring Festival celebrations on Feb 5, with a showcase of handicrafts and agricultural specialties from rural areas. The event helped to increase incomes for farmers.
2. Jinyang Lecture on Spring Festival
From Feb 12 to 17, the district will broadcast Jinyang Lecture on Spring Festival, an online cultural program that teaches people about the history and culture of Jinyuan district. The program will utilize cross-talk and storytelling to share the traditions of Chinese New Year in the community.
3. Broadcast of tourist attractions
Promo videos of significant tourist attractions in Jinyuan district will be shown online on Feb 10, introducing these scenic areas' featured tourism resources and culture to the public. The footage will allow people to enjoy the district's natural scenery and understand its history and culture from the comfort of home.
4. Photography exhibition
From Feb 11 to 20, Jinyuan district will hold a photography exhibition that collects family portraits, photos of family reunion dinners and rural scenery pictures. All of these images will be themed around Spring Festival and Lantern Festival.
