Three alliances -- related to artificial intelligence (AI), 5G technology and industrial internet -- were established at the 2020 China (Taiyuan) Artificial Intelligence Conference, which opened on Oct 31 in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province.

The Shanxi AI Industry Technology Alliance was jointly initiated by a group of leading AI enterprises, universities, scientific research institutes and service institutions in Shanxi.

Targeting the technological innovation needs of the AI industry in the province, the alliance aims to break through AI industrial technology bottlenecks, build core competitiveness, develop an industry-teaching-research cooperation platform for the AI industry and create a complete AI industry supply chain.

The Shanxi 5G Industry Technology Alliance and the Shanxi Alliance of Industrial Internet Industry Technology were founded by the telecoms including Taiyuan branches of China Unicom, China Mobile, China Telecom and China Tower.

The alliances are committed to promoting information sharing among members, boosting collaboration in R&D, technology, industry and applications -- so as to accelerate the development of 5G-based industrial internet applications and industrial innovation.
