Taiyuan Wusu International Airport launched a new route on Oct 25, connecting Taiyuan, the capital city of North China's Shanxi province, and Shanghai in East China.
The route is operated by China Eastern Airlines and Juneyao Airline Co, and there are 11 daily flights between Taiyuan and Shanghai. Round-trip fare between the two cities starts at 800 yuan ($119.21).
Most of the flights on the route are scheduled to depart on the hour or half past the hour between 6:30 am and 9:30 pm, which is convenient for passengers to remember and provides more choices for passengers who have missed their flights or need to change flights.
According to an official from Shanxi Aviation Industry Group Co, the new flight route's launch provides more choices for tourists and business travelers. It also offers a convenient channel for communication and trade exchanges between the two cities.
Shanxi Aviation Industry Group Co will next seize the opportunities brought by the novel route and the integrated management of airports across Shanxi to improve its network of international, domestic and intra-provincial air routes.
The group will also focus on increasing flights to and from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
