The 2020 Shanxi Brands Online Tour on the Silk Road (European stop) and Shanxi-Europe Project Cooperation Online Promotion was held on Oct 13-15 in Taiyuan city -- capital of North China's Shanxi province --  to attract more investment to the province and to further its economic and commercial opening-up to the outside world.

The online event was divided into three special sections -- one for new equipment and products, the second for new technologies and new materials and the third for agriculture, medicine and health.

Shanxi's development zones focusing on these industries -- including Yuncheng Economic and Technological Development Area and Taiyuan Zhongbei High-tech Industrial Development Zone -- promoted their featured industries at the event.

They outlined their foreign investment and commercial needs and looked at potential participation by European advanced technology and capital during sub-activities that covered the three special areas.

More than 30 enterprises and development zones across Shanxi held investment promotions and issued invitations of project cooperation at the main venue in Taiyuan.

Politicians, representatives from embassies and consulates, economic and trade institutions, business associations and more than 100 entrepreneurs from European countries -- including those from Fortune Global 500 enterprises -- participated in the event online.

Through online information releases, promotions and negotiations, over 20 Shanxi enterprises forged business partnerships with companies from the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, Ireland, Greece and Finland.
