Taiyuan, capital city of North China's Shanxi province, has resumed the processing of group tourist visas for Chinese mainland residents travelling to Macao from Sept 23, according to the exit-entry administration division of the Taiyuan public security bureau.

Visas are currently only being handled by the manual service, as self-service equipment will continue to be shut down. The opening hours will be notified.

At present, the processing will be taking place during the novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control period. It is therefore required that people strictly follow the relevant requirements to control the flow of people at windows and prevent people from gathering.

Those who apply for the first time for permits for travelling to and from Hong Kong, Macao and for group tourist visas to travel to Macao have a number of processing options. They can hand their paper work at the exit-entry processing hall of the Taiyuan public security bureau, the exit-entry processing halls of the city's 10 branches, counties and county-level cities, as well as at 113 police stations which have opened one-stop exit-entry services.

In addition, people living in areas with the epidemic or with high risk and those who have lived in areas with the epidemic or with high risk within 14 days of an application, will not be accepted for permits for travelling to and from Hong Kong, Macao and for group tourist visas to travel to Macao.
