Smart production is coming to the traditional steel industry, after Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group Co (TISCO) and Tencent Cloud recently established the Shanxi Iron and Steel Industrial Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center in Taiyuan city, capital of North China's Shanxi province. 

The Taiyuan-based leading national stainless steel manufacturer has been promoting the development of the industrial internet in recent years and has become a national intelligent manufacturing pilot demonstration enterprise. 

A public cloud service provider that integrates internet giant Tencent's infrastructure building capabilities with the advantages of its massive-user platform and ecosystem, Tencent Cloud has emerged as one of the pioneers in the construction of China's new industrial infrastructure. 

According to an agreement signed between the two sides, Tencent Cloud will provide the Shanxi innovation center with advanced cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and internet technologies and concepts.

TISCO and Tencent Cloud will focus on the application of the industrial internet, cloud computing, big data and AI.

They will promote the automated and intelligent development of iron and steel manufacturing, through the research and demonstration applications of key technologies.

This will help significantly reduce manufacturing costs, improve operation efficiency and enhance the core competitiveness of Shanxi's steel industry.
