Tourism
With a history dating back some 2,500 years, Taiyuan is a famous military, cultural and trading hub in ancient North China. There are 137 cultural relics sites under local and provincial government protection, including 13 cultural relics sites under national protection.
Transportation
As capital of Shanxi province, Taiyuan is one of the transport hubs in North China which boasts obvious location advantages and convenient transportation. It has developed a modern transportation network made up of highways, railways and an international airport, which connects regions inside and outside the province.
