Apart from protection measures, Taiyuan has also focused on the display and explanation of cultural values and resources in local historical areas, according to Liu Yuwei, head of Taiyuan cultural heritage bureau.

The city plans to display a large architectural complex in Jinyang Ancient City in the current year, which was covered by a protective shed of over 6,800 square meters .

Pei Jingrong, an archaeological researcher, said that the protective shed for the display of Jinyang Ancient City is an attempt at developing the Jinyang Ancient City Heritage Park, which will allow the achievements of cultural heritage protection to be better shown to the public.

"The construction of Jinyang Ancient City Heritage Park is to comprehensively and systematically reproduce the city's image and culture in ancient times and to seek a balance between socioeconomic development and the protection of cultural heritage," Pei said.

Moving forwards, Taiyuan will open Taiyuan Ancient County from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) period to the public. Officials said it will create a centralized display area for Jinyang history and culture.
