The first phase of the Taiyuan Industrial Internet Platform has started trials, according to local officials in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on April 27.

The platform was jointly built by the Taiyuan bureau of industry and information technology, the Taiyuan branch of China United Network Communications Group and Yundee Smart Technology Co.

Officials said it will provide economic operational analysis and project investment dynamics for government departments, as well as offer industrial internet applications for companies.

"The construction and operation of the platform is a milestone in the construction of key industrial internet facilities in Taiyuan," said Yang Lingsheng, deputy director of the Taiyuan bureau of industry and information technology.

"The platform will realize the digitization, networking and intelligent development of industrial enterprises in Taiyuan and lay a solid foundation for the city's industrial transformation," Yang said.

The platform is being constructed in two phases. The first phase will mainly offer a cloud video meeting system, a platform for industrial economic operations monitoring and a project management platform for industrial transformation and upgrade to departments at the Taiyuan bureau of industry and information technology as well as to companies.

The second phase focuses on building seven resource-gathering and sharing platforms targeting local companies in areas such as procurement coordination, manufacturing coordination and industrial e-commerce platforms.

Officials said it is expected to be completed in 2022.
