Jinzhong city's last existing confirmed patient with the novel coronavirus pneumonia was discharged from hospital on March 13, marking the point when North China's Shanxi province was clear of the outbreak, local officials said. 

According to Shanxi Health Commission, the province had all 133 confirmed infections cured under integrated Chinese and Western medicine by that day.

Officials said there had been no more confirmed cases and suspected infections in the province as of March 16.
