Taiyuan, capital of North's China Shanxi province, ranked seventh in a report on the competitiveness of the medical hardware environment in the nation's cities in 2019, recently released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The report compared, analyzed and evaluated the competitiveness of medical hardware environment in 286 prefecture-level cities -- excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-- based on six indicators.
These included the number of doctors and hospital beds, as well as top-level hospitals.
As for individual indicators, Taiyuan ranked among the top 10 cities in terms of the number of doctors per 10,000 people, the number of hospital beds per 10,000 and the number of top-level hospitals.
