Taiyuan National Logistics Hub -- based in Zhongding Logistics Industrial Park in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province -- had seen 90 percent of its warehousing and logistics enterprises resume operations as of March 5, according to the Shanxi Development and Reform Commission.

The average daily throughput of the park has reached 10,500 metric tons as of March 5, a year-on-year increase of 35.8 percent. The daily highway throughput is currently averaging 5,161 tons and that for the railways current stands at 5,339 tons, respectively.

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, the Shanxi Development and Reform Commission has advised key logistics companies to participate in the prevention and control of the outbreak, providing guarantees for the transfer of emergency materials throughout Shanxi province and supplies of people's daily necessities.

The commission has helped logistics companies in Zhongding Logistics Industrial Park apply for investment to support the construction of major projects.

It has also recommended that 23 logistics and daily necessity supply companies, playing an important role in epidemic prevention and control, apply for credit support with preferential interest rates.

Officials said it will continue its advice and support in the resumption of production and operations by key logistics enterprises in the park.
