The Taiyuan Investment Promotion Conference and Yangtze River Delta Regional Cooperation Matchmaking Conference was held in Shanghai on Nov 5 -- with representatives from over 70 companies in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region participating.
Wang Ligang, executive deputy mayor of Taiyuan city, addressed the conference.
He said that by taking advantage of the ongoing 2nd China International Import Expo in Shanghai, the matchmaking conference aimed to learn the innovative spirit, open concepts and development experiences of the CIIE host city.
He urged more entrepreneurs in Shanghai to take time out to get to further understand Taiyuan's development and good business environment and build a cooperative platform for enterprises in the two cities.
"Shanxi province, Taiyuan and Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone have enacted more than 20 policies related to industrial support funds, production factor costs reduction, tax incentives, technological innovation and talent -- so as to attract investment and boost company growth, ” he added.
Presentations on a total of five industrial park and company projects -- including Taiyuan Stainless Steel Industrial Park and a new magnesium alloy materials industrial plant by Shanxi Ao Tian Magnesium Industry Co -- were made to the conference.
The event saw six projects with contract value of 22.34 billion yuan ($3.19 billion) signed on the spot.
The projects involve vehicle LED production, air heater production, shopping plaza construction, urban dilapidated buildings renovation, express and e-commerce headquarters base construction and the cultural creative exhibition sectors.
