A cooperation forum and signing ceremony -- between Shanxi province and leading global new energy companies -- saw 24 projects signed in Taiyuan, in Shanxi province, on Oct 23, according to officials.
A key briefing on the history, culture, location and resource advantages, key industrial clusters, industrial structure and investment opportunities of Shanxi province was given by Tian Baomin, an official of the Shanxi department of commerce.
"Shanxi has excellent policy guarantees, a sound business environment, excellent entrepreneurial platforms and an attractive talent policy," he said.
"We hope that more friends will enter Shanxi, understand Shanxi, join hands with Shanxi and share the reform and development of Shanxi," Tian added.
In a guest speech, Osten Ekengren, executive vice-president of the IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, shared the Swedish experience in urban environmental governance.
He said his organization was willing to work with Chinese companies on developing Taiyuan into a zero-waste city based on technology from the Nordic countries.
Shanxi selected 39 investment cooperation projects with a total investment of 215.45 billion yuan ($30.47 billion), officials said.
These involve new energy, coke product manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, the coal chemicals industry and energy service industries -- as well as 80 mixed ownership system reform projects of State-owned enterprises.
The province printed their information in a booklet, to seek investment and collaboration among attendees.
