The National Youth Games of the People's Republic of China is a national comprehensive sporting event held every four years. The first National Youth Games was held in Fuzhou, Fujian province, in 2015.

The 2nd National Youth Games, to be held in Shanxi province from Aug 8 to 18, is the largest sporting event hosted by the province since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.

Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province and the major venue for the 2nd National Youth Games, is hosting 22 of the event's 49 sports programs and will hold the opening and closing ceremonies as well.
