North China's largest urban park – Jinyang Lake Park – is expected to open to the public around July 20, giving locals a place to escape the summer heat.

The park will be divided into three sections and has a total planned area of 19.3 square kilometers.

The first section of the park has already opened to the public, and some other landscaping projects are nearing completion.

The first section is divided into four areas and has nearly 30 scenic spots surrounding the 5.66-sq-km lake.

The eastern area is close to the Shanxi Sports Center and focuses on sports and fitness. It features attractions such as a square for celebrations, a tea house, and a sports park.

The northern area near Changfeng Business District is a recreation area and includes a sand bathing area and an entertainment area for children.

The western area is connected to the industrial remains of Taiyuan Chemicals Industry Group, which are currently serving as a cultural and creative industrial park.

The southern area consists of a bird island, forests, and gardens. It is great for those interested in nature.
