FC Bayern Football School Taiyuan, FC Bayern Munich's second full-time international football school in China, started construction in Taiyuan, Shanxi province on June 5, followed by the launch of the first FC Bayern football training camp for youth in Taiyuan.

For the youth football training camp, coaches from FC Bayern Munich will make use of Bayern youth training techniques in theoretical education and outdoor coaching to develop a youth training course based on the Bayern youth training system.

Football training camps for youth will be carried out throughout Taiyuan to help develop and promote school football and cultivate football professionals.

Bayern will bring its football training philosophy and resources and its brand value to Taiyuan and China, said Walter Mennekes, vice-president of FC Bayern Munich, who hopes that the new school will help develop football in China and promote communication between China and Germany.

The new football school is the result of a partnership between the top German professional football club, Shanxi province, and China Sports Futurity Investment Co announced on September 6, 2018.

"The groundbreaking ceremony is the first practice of cooperation between Bayern and Taiyuan since 2018," said Li Xiaobo, mayor of Taiyuan. He said that Taiyuan will offer its full support to the school and help develop the FC Bayern football training camp for youth into a high-quality event.

The football school is being built on the north bank of Jinyang Lake and will be equipped with four standard 11-a-side football fields, four standard 7-a-side football fields, and one goalkeeper training field. It will accommodate 3,300 primary to high school students and employ 500 staff members.

In the near future, the new educational institution will hold activities such as Bayern training camps, Bayern Youth Cups, sports rehabilitation training, Bayern football professional technical meetings, and football star gatherings.
