Hundreds of distinctive color glaze artworks were unveiled in Taiyuan Art Museum on March 2, marking the beginning of first Shanxi Color Glaze Culture and Art Exhibition.

Chinese color glaze ceramics has a long history dating from the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220).

Shanxi province has been a major production center for colored glaze ware stretching back to ancient times with traditional colored glaze manufacturing techniques having been passed down in Taiyuan city, Yangcheng, Hejin as well as in Jiexiu counties for thousands of years.
