Shanxi Provincial Government has recently issued a circular on developing 10 industrial clusters for the intensive and deep processing of agricultural products, to help promote rural revitalization, according to local officials. 

Shanxi will base its initiative on the local advantages enjoyed by its agricultural specialties -- such as a variety of home-grown grains, livestock and poultry, vegetables, fresh and dried fruit and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

It plans to leverage these to develop 10 agricultural clusters with complete industrial chains, such as breweries, beverages, dairy products, meat products, fruit, dietary supplements, cosmetics and TCM. 

According to the circular, the output value of the province's agricultural product processing industry will exceed 300 billion yuan ($43.12 billion) by the end of 2025. In addition, Shanxi is expected to attract over 200 related enterprises with annual sales revenue of more than 100 million yuan, as well as develop a series of famous brands.
