Yangquan city has implemented a strategy of innovation-driven development, igniting the vitality of technological innovation among its main business entities. In 2023, it registered a record high of 196 technological achievements. 

The number of registered technological achievements in the city has continued to grow, demonstrating three main characteristics: a dominance of applied technology achievements, a strengthened position of enterprises as the main force in technological innovation, and the empowerment of technological innovation in smart city construction. 

Among the technological achievements registered last year, 186 were in the applied technology category, accounting for 94.9 percent of the total. This indicates that the majority of technological achievements have begun to be transformed into practical applications. 

Enterprises contributed to 187 of the city's registered technological achievements, making up 95.41 percent of the total. This proportion is significantly higher than the combined 4.59 percent that was contributed by independent research institutions and medical institutions. 

The city's registered technological achievements spanned 11 application industries, with 102 achievements in the information transmission, software, and information technology services industries, accounting for 52.04 percent of the total. Additionally, 57 achievements were involved in the manufacturing industry, and 37 achievements were related to nine other industries.
