The total revenue of the transportation service industry in Yangquan city in 2023 increased by 23.6 percent compared to 2022, marking the highest growth rate in North China's Shanxi province.

Over the last year, Yangquan completed construction on 527 kilometers of rural roads and 235 km of the Taihang No 1 tourist highway. Along the tourist highway, 11 post stations, seven RV campsites, 26 viewing platforms, 40 parking lots, and 142 km of scenic and slow lanes were established. This enhanced the comprehensive service capabilities of the tourist highway.

The completion and acceptance of the G207 and G307 overpass projects led to the upgrading of major highways in the city.

Yangquan opened 169 rural passenger transport routes and 157 bus routes in 2023, connecting urban and rural areas. Bus services now cover the entire Jiaoqu district in the city, extending to Pingding and Yuxian counties. Additionally, 10 tourist bus routes were launched, which now connect to more than 40 tourist attractions around the city.

The city also implemented safety protection projects covering roads spanning 375 km, thus promoting safety on rural roads. Special campaigns to improve rural road traffic safety, intensify control of overloading vehicles, and joint law enforcement tasks were contributed to keeping the area's traffic accident rate consistently low.

Furthermore, Yangquan has been constructing a smart public transportation system that promotes the transformation and upgrade of its public transportation network. A large-scale comprehensive passenger transportation hub has been put into operation, along with the establishment of a public transport and taxi management platform. Other work includes the installation of electronic bus signs, and the widespread use of the "Yangquan Public Transport" mobile app.
