Shanxi's goods foreign trade reaches 124.76b yuan in first 11 months

Shanxi province's goods foreign trade amounted to 124.76 billion yuan ($17.76 billion) in the first 11 months of this year, according to data provided by Taiyuan Customs. Imports totaled 61.31 billion yuan, reflecting a 0.4 percent increase.

Among export commodities, agricultural products, fertilizers, glass and glass products, and automobiles (including chassis) maintained growth against the overall decline. In the first 11 months, agricultural product exports reached 1.83 billion yuan, up 2.7 percent; fertilizer exports amounted to 1.13 billion yuan, up 49.6 percent; glass and glass product exports totaled 1.07 billion yuan, up 3.4 percent; and automobile exports (including chassis) stood at 840 million yuan, an increase of 25.3 percent.

Among imported commodities, resource-based products showed continued growth. Bulk goods such as iron ore, coal, soybeans, chrome ore, and bauxite played a key role in driving the growth of imports in Shanxi. In the first 11 months, imports of bulk goods reached 31.18 billion yuan, an increase of 12.8 percent, boosting the province's overall import growth rate by 5.8 percent and accounting for 50.9 percent of total imports.
