Yingxian porcelain expands into ASEAN market via 'Thailand warehouse'

The Shanxi Yingxian County Ceramic International Exhibition and Sales Center in Bangkok, Thailand, serves as a 1,750-square-meter overseas warehouse showcasing over 1,000 daily-use porcelain products from Yingxian county and has emerged as a crucial way for Shanxi's daily-use ceramic industry to tap into the ASEAN market.
"From the end of July last year to the end of May this year, we received a total of 17.88 million yuan ($2.49 million) in orders from Thailand and other ASEAN countries," shared Dai Baozhu, head of the Shanxi Yingxian County Ceramic International Exhibition and Sales Center, in early July.
Thailand, a key ASEAN member, witnessed the official opening of the exhibition and sales center at the Samanea Plaza in Bangkok on July 28, 2024, built with a 3-million-yuan investment from the Yingxian County Economic and Technological Development Zone.
Operated by a Thai professional sales company, the exhibition and sales center focuses on developing a full-service chain system encompassing display, warehousing, logistics, online marketing, and offline wholesale to enhance the competitiveness of "Shanxi Ceramics" in the Thai and ASEAN markets.
Products from 11 Yingxian county enterprises are currently available in Bangkok's main supermarkets, with over 1,000 items sold daily through cross-border e-commerce platforms, reaching a number of ASEAN countries.
Relying on government investment, enterprise operation, and market-driven operation, the exhibition and sales center effectively reduces cross-border trade costs, promoting the coordinated development of industrial chains between China and Thailand.
"This mechanism broadens the inland region's international trade cooperation models, enhancing the international influence of the 'Yingxian Porcelain' and 'Shanxi Ceramics' brands," said Dai Baozhu.
