The standard proposal titled "Design Requirements for Wind Turbine Generators", led by Shanxi-based CRRC Yongji Electric Co, was approved on April 22 by the International Electrotechnical Commission's Technical Committee on Wind Energy Generation Systems (IEC TC88) after being reviewed and voted for online by 33 member countries.

This proposal's initiation contributes Chinese solutions to the global wind power industry. It focuses on the design specifications for wind turbine generators under various special application scenarios. These include high-altitude operational conditions, specific electrical requirements for converter-powered environments, grid high-voltage and low-voltage ride-through capabilities, and operational requirements under unstable and sudden changes in rotational speed.

As the leading company, CRRC Yongji Electric Co's technical expert team developed a comprehensive work plan, engaging in extensive discussions and exchanges regarding international standards with wind power industry experts from various countries. The team proactively communicated with representatives from the UK, Denmark, Germany, and other member countries, and traveled to Europe to consult with major standardization organizations and wind power enterprises, seeking professional opinions.

During the preparation phase, the National Technical Committee 50 on Wind Energy Generation Systems of Standardization Administration of China organized multiple international standard proposal initiation seminars. These seminars, aligned with IEC international standard formulation procedures, deeply explored the scope, necessity, feasibility, global applicability, and alignment with other international standards, laying a solid foundation for the proposal's final approval.
