Shanxi accelerates development of new energy industry hub

Shanxi province recently released the "2025 Major Project Construction Action Plan", which highlights the creation of green electricity industrial parks that feature green electricity trading, integrated source-grid-load-storage models, and direct green electricity connections.
The project, which includes two sub-projects, has a total investment of 3.83 billion yuan ($525.54 million), with 660 million yuan planned for this year. The projects are located in Datong and Yuncheng cities.

In Datong, the Zero-Carbon (Green Electricity) Industrial Park project is progressing rapidly. Companies like Sungrow and Hyper Strong have established operations here, making Datong the province's leading green electricity hub with the largest energy storage capacity.
This year, the first phase of the industrial park aims to build a zero-carbon energy system by integrating wind and solar renewable energy. The project will incorporate green electricity with high-end manufacturing, particularly in cutting-edge fields like big data and new materials, striving to create a nationally significant zero-carbon industrial demonstration park.
In Yuncheng, the green electricity park construction has adopted a "1+2" advancement model, consisting of one approved project (Jiangxian Economic Development Zone Green Electricity Park) and two proposed projects (Yuncheng Economic Development Zone and Wanrong County Green Electricity Park).
In 2025, the installed capacity of photovoltaic power in Yuncheng is expected to exceed 4.7 million kilowatts, with wind power reaching 4.3 million kW. Emerging fields such as geothermal and hydrogen energy will also be developed rapidly.
With the gradual implementation of the park project, a new green energy industry hub is emerging in Shanxi, driving economic transformation and providing a "Shanxi solution" for national energy structure adjustment.
