Shanxi to establish high-standard tourism and wellness market system

North China's Shanxi province recently announced the "2025 Action Plan for Building a High-Standard Market System in the Cultural Tourism and Wellness Sector", focusing on creating a new development pattern for scenic areas and fostering new consumption drivers.
The plan includes organizing the creation of A-level tourist attractions and promoting high-grade scenic spots, aiming to form a brand matrix for Shanxi's tourist destinations.
Efforts will be made to develop cultural tourism and wellness clusters in 10 counties. These clusters will use ecological resources to diversify tourism and wellness offerings, such as summer resorts and hot spring wellness retreats.
Shanxi will accelerate the development of core attractions in the key tourist cities of Taiyuan, Datong, and Yuncheng. The goal is to enhance dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment. The province will also focus on creating renowned tourist counties and towns.
It will deepen the integration of cultural tourism with various industries to foster new consumption drivers and stimulate consumer spending. Furthermore, cultural and creative enterprises and scenic spots will be guided to develop and promote cultural and creative products.
Shanxi will enhance its promotional efforts with innovative and creative campaigns centered on all-season tourism. These campaigns will combine online and offline promotion, target domestic and international markets, and blend virtual and real experiences.
Initiatives will be taken to improve the quality of travel agencies, accommodation services, and tour guides. A tourist service evaluation system will be established to create a tourist-friendly environment and ensure high-quality experiences for visitors.
