The opening performance of the Shanxi Cultural Year, titled "Celebrating the Year of the Snake - Shanxi Charm", took place on Feb 5 in Tokyo, Japan.

The performance, organized by the Culture and Tourism Department of Shanxi Province and the Tokyo China Cultural Center, showcased the unique charm of Shanxi culture and injected new vitality into Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges. It allowed Japanese spectators to experience the distinctive charm of traditional Shanxi culture.

This event featured performers from the Shanxi Song and Dance Theater, Shanxi Arts Vocational College, and the Japan-China Sun Art Troupe. The Shanxi art team presented 19 wonderful acts, fully demonstrating Shanxi's profound cultural heritage.

This performance signifies the commencement of the 2025 Shanxi (Japan) Cultural Year. In 2025, Shanxi will hold a series of cultural and tourism promotion activities in Japan, enabling more Japanese people to better understand Shanxi's history, culture, and folk customs.
