Shanxi strengthens digital healthcare services

In recent years, North China's Shanxi province has continuously enhanced the digitization of medical services, achieving significant results. This has resulted in many grassroots medical institutions attaining comprehensive medical service upgrades.
Zheng Bojue, director of the internet medical department at Yangquan First People's Hospital, said that the hospital entered the era of internet medical care in December 2022. Through the "Yiliantong" chronic disease management platform, patients can register online from home and upload data to specialist doctors.
Doctors can provide corresponding medical treatments based on the data, issue prescriptions, and direct them to drug delivery platforms. These platforms then deliver the medications to the patients' homes. Chronic disease patients can pay related expenses online using medical insurance.
In October 2024, the Changzhi People's Hospital deployed its 5G intelligent regional critical care system. "The system enables seamless pre-hospital and post-hospital emergency linkage, facilitates rapid development of rescue plans, promotes preoperative preparations, and eliminates the waiting time for emergency patients," said Bi Shuzhen, the emergency medical center's director.
In August 2023, Zhongyanglou Community Health Service Center in Lyuliang city, along with 14 village clinics in its jurisdiction, implemented the smart medical assistance system, serving over 60,000 people. This system helps achieve comprehensive coverage of health education, physical examination appointments, vaccine administration, and follow-ups for chronic diseases among residents in the area.
