Datong city is capitalizing on its long snow season, excellent snow quality, and beautiful landscapes to establish itself as a premier ice and snow tourism destination. Since 2024, the city has focused on enhancing its winter tourism offerings and service capabilities through 10 major ice and snow venues, such as the Wanlong Baideng Mountain International Ski Resort and the Wolong Mountain Ski Resort in Xiaoshizi village.

During the 2024-2025 snow season, Datong will host themed ice and snow activities. Highlights include the Taohua Mountain Ice and Snow Carnival, night tours at Xuankong Temple, the Wulong Gorge Ice Camping Season, an Ice and Snow Electronic Music Festival, and the Kuaishou Internet Celebrity Concert, all of which will enhance the "Chinese New Year in Datong" brand.

Xinzhou city is known for its abundant hot spring resources, including renowned sites such as Qicun, Duncun, and Beihesuo. During Spring Festival, Xinzhou will integrate hot spring culture with local customs, ice and snow sports, and warm winter markets to create distinctive cultural tourism products that enrich visitors' hot spring wellness experiences.

Jinzhong city is a typical representative of China's Shehuo (traditional festive performances) culture and a region known for its distinctive northern folk activities. During Spring Festival, Jinzhong will host vibrant Shehuo activities, including lion and Yangko dances in Qixian county, and traditional folk performances and showcases of intangible cultural heritage in Shouyang county.

Focusing on an entire winter tourism chain, including dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment, Shanxi will stimulate tourism consumption vitality and enhance the influence of its winter tourism brand.
