In 2025, North China's Shanxi province will continue to deepen its comprehensive transformation, focusing on accelerating development and fostering new quality productive forces according to local conditions.

Shanxi plans to enhance fundamental research and tackle key core technologies by implementing 30 major provincial science and technology projects and 150 key R&D plans. Two provincial laboratories and two basic discipline research centers will be established, along with the layout of three energy technology innovation corridors and three science and technology industry integration innovation bases.

At the same time, the province will expedite the construction of wind power and photovoltaic projects and promote the development of the entire industrial chain of hydrogen energy, ammonia energy, and methanol, with the proportion of new energy and clean energy installations exceeding 50 percent.

Shanxi will also launch the "AI+" initiative, creating an industrial cluster and innovative ecosystem around "5G+Industrial Internet". It will expand smart applications in healthcare, elderly care, communities, and transportation, accelerating overall urban digital transformation.

Furthermore, the province will strive to develop cultural and tourism industries into strategic pillar industries and industries promoting public well-being. It will continue working to build three key gateway cities, establish a number of renowned tourism cities, counties, and towns, and enhance the integration of the three No 1 tourist highways into popular tourist routes.

Lastly, Shanxi will develop seasonal tourism products for spring outings, summer retreats, autumn excursions, and winter enjoyment, offering a diverse array of tourism products such as educational tours, personal driving experiences, and wellness tourism to meet the needs of visitors of all ages.
