Yangquan galvanizes digital economy, attracting new players

Yangquan city in North China's Shanxi province has taken big strides in galvanizing its digital transformation, recently earning it the title of a "Gigabit City".
This recognition has underscored the city's robust 5G and its fiber-optic network infrastructure, an essential foundation for fostering modern productivity and driving economic growth forwards.
As part of its Smart City initiative, Yangquan has installed over 4,270 new 5G base stations, achieving full network coverage across urban and rural areas – a milestone that puts it ahead of the national goals.
The city is also building a professionalized intelligent computing cluster, by leveraging dual computing power centers in collaboration with industry leaders like Baidu. These efforts are expected to provide a substantial boost to AI, big data and blockchain industries.

At the forefront of digital manufacturing, Shanxi Zunte Intelligent Technology Company is said to exemplify Yangquan's vibrant digital economy.
Located in the city's high-tech industrial park, the company produces high-tech digital products, including Baidu's smart devices, with sales now spanning global markets.
The firm has patented 22 intellectual property rights, two of which are said to be groundbreaking patents, cementing its status as a leader in innovation.
To date, Yangquan's commitment to digital growth has attracted over 3,000 digital economy enterprises to establish themselves there, forming a thriving ecosystem.
From autonomous vehicles to smart delivery systems, digital technologies are seamlessly being integrating into its daily life – underscoring Yangquan's emergence as a hub for innovation and a model of sustainable economic development.
