This year, North China's Shanxi province has proactively completed 15 livelihood projects outlined in the government work report. These projects address people's major concerns, such as elderly care, childcare, employment, social security, disease screening, rural vitalization, and environmental governance.

For the first time, the province achieved universal subsidies for the elderly and young, providing subsidies to individuals aged 80 and above and inclusive childcare facilities adhering to government pricing guidelines. This benefitted 815,800 elderly individuals and subsidized 23,186 childcare spots.

Shanxi also implemented a program to enhance employment services for college graduates. It hosted 6,783 campus job fairs, recruited 11,312 individuals into State-owned enterprises, and hired 3,000 individuals as community assistants. This ensures comprehensive coverage of employment and entrepreneurship services for graduates, promoting their integration into the workforce.

A project to enhance and expand rural postal and logistics services was also implemented. It completed tasks in 10 demonstration counties, 100 township service stations, and 1,000 administrative village service stations and facilitated the urban distribution of agricultural products and rural access to consumer goods.

A program for the adaptive remodeling of homes for elderly individuals facing special difficulties was employed, benefiting 40,648 households and enhancing the quality of life for those in need. Additionally, 6,413 disabled university students were supported in finishing their education.

This year, 40 high-frequency social security and employment services have been extended to people's doorsteps, and 23,100 employment and social security service stations have been established across the province. This makes job searches and social security processes more convenient for the public.

Looking ahead, Shanxi's departments at all levels will continue to safeguard and improve people's livelihoods, ensuring that more people can enjoy the benefits of high-quality development.
