As of Dec 10, Shanxi province's airport passenger throughput surpassed 20 million this year, marking a significant leap in its civil aviation industry.
This year, China's civil aviation sector entered a new phase of sustained rapid development. Shanxi Aviation Industry Group has seized the opportunity, vigorously developing its aviation core business, with provincial airports delivering impressive performance metrics.
By Dec 10, the province's airports had completed 160,000 transport takeoffs and landings, with passenger throughput exceeding 20 million and cargo throughput reaching 70,000 metric tons. These figures represented year-on-year growth of 4.89 percent, 14.93 percent, and 24.41 percent, respectively.
In August this year, Taiyuan's airports handled nearly 1.59 million passengers, including a record-breaking 54,800 on Aug 10. This set new monthly and daily highs since the airports' opening.
During the National Day holiday, riding the wave of Black Myth: Wukong, Shanxi Aviation Industry Group ensured 3,802 transport takeoffs and landings across the province's airports, accommodating 506,800 passengers. This marked a 6.2-percent and 14.7-percent year-on-year increase, respectively.
Driven by favorable policies like visa waivers, Taiyuan's airports resumed and added 11 international and regional routes to Hong Kong, Moscow, Nagoya, Seoul, Singapore, and more, connecting international and regional cities.
Meanwhile, Yuncheng's airports launched international routes to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, while Datong's airports plans to open a Bangkok route on Dec 18. These developments contribute to the province's efforts to establish new gateways for external exchanges.
