The Shandong Ports Entering Shanxi – Supply Chain Comprehensive Service Promotion Conference was recently held in Taiyuan, North China's Shanxi province.

Shanxi has always been the economic hinterland that Shandong province's ports value and serve. Over the years, Shandong's ports have accelerated east-west mutual assistance and land-sea linkage by constructing an extensive logistics network that includes rail services and inland ports.

Shandong's investment and control sector has provided comprehensive financial services worth more than 900 million yuan ($124.39 million) to meet the upstream and downstream customer demands of Shanxi's characteristic industries, such as steel and coal.

The ports have strengthened cooperation with railway departments to enhance public rail and sea-rail transport, establishing the country's first road-port integrated transportation command center. Shandong's ports and Shanxi have evolved from simple railway-road transportation to comprehensive cooperation in multimodal transport, finance, and trade.

During the promotion conference, Shandong's ports focused on promoting their comprehensive supply chain service system. Qingdao Port, Rizhao Port, Yantai Port, and Bohai Bay Port of Shandong signed strategic cooperation agreements with Shanxi enterprises.

Shandong's ports will strive to become Shanxi's "convenient gateway to the sea". Shandong also hopes to be its "resource connector" and "gold partner", effectively bringing ports to the doorstep of Shanxi enterprises. By doing so, Shandong will attract more high-end port and shipping resources to cluster in Shanxi, providing a strong engine for the high-quality development of Shanxi's economy and society.
