To further strengthen cooperation between North China's Shanxi province and Italy in economic, cultural, trade, and people-to-people exchanges, Roberto Brizzi, mayor of Bussolengo, led a delegation from Verona Province to Shanxi from Nov 11 to 12.

On Nov 11, the Italian delegation attended an exchange and dialogue meeting in Taiyuan, which was one of the highlights of their visit and coincided with Italian President Sergio Mattarella's visit to China, carrying both political and economic significance.

During the meeting, Roberto Brizzi and Manuel Scalzotto, mayor of Cologna Veneta, exchanged their thoughts on the visit and expressed willingness to enhance mutual cooperation with Shanxi in modern agriculture, cultural tourism, and trade, so as to benefit the people of both sides.

Li Shaojun, secondary inspector of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shanxi Province, introduced the sister-city situation between Shanxi and Italy and expressed willingness to establish Shanxi as a new beacon for Sino-Italian cultural exchanges.

Yang Chunquan, director of the Shanxi Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau, invited Italian companies to invest in Shanxi, further strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, culture, and tourism, as well as creating new opportunities for shared development.

During the meeting, Xingxian county in Lyuliang and Affi City in Veneto signed a letter of intent to establish friendly city relations, aiming to promote exchanges, deepen understanding, and establish a model of friendly cooperation between Shanxi and Italy.

Subsequently, the delegation visited Shanxi's modern agricultural technology demonstration park and leading life and health industry park for on-site inspections, gaining insights into the development of relevant industrial parks in the province and initiating discussions on key areas of mutual interest.
