North China's Shanxi province seized the opportunity to foster partnerships with internationally renowned enterprises and accelerate its establishment as a new beacon for inland opening-up at the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE).

Shanxi Meetall United Supermarket Co reached a deal with exhibitor OIE Hong Kong Limited to import leisure food and beverages. The goal is to introduce more high-quality imports to Meetall's supply chain and pave the way for OIE's future collaborations.

Shanxi Douquhan Kashe Coffee Co, part of the Jincheng city delegation, signed a coffee bean procurement order with the French Louis Dreyfus Company.

The Shanxi delegation organized four provincial-level and 19 supporting activities, including investment negotiations, signings, and research visits. The Shanxi Chamber of Commerce Festival (Shanghai Special) event brought together Shanxi merchants to employ Shanghai's economic influence and resources, creating a broader cooperation platform for the province's culture and tourism industry.

"Participating in the CIIE allows Shanxi to better understand international market demands and trends, thus promoting its high-quality development and comprehensive transformation," said Yang Chunquan, director of the Shanxi Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau.

The province will focus on key markets such as the countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, RCEP members, Europe, and the United States, actively promoting overseas investment activities to expand the network for attracting foreign investment and enhance overall opening-up.

During the CIIE, Shanxi's exhibition hall showcased the province's ancient architecture through digital screens and interactive performances with regional characteristics. This attracted visitors and revealed Shanxi's charm to the world.
