The Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shanxi Province announced on Nov 4 that over 500 million yuan ($69.86 million) has been allocated from provincial finances to support smart manufacturing projects, leading to over 10 billion yuan in social investment.

In recent years, the province has prioritized revitalizing and upgrading the manufacturing industry as the main goal for industrial transformation. Using platforms such as industrial chains, specialized professional towns, and development zones, Shanxi has worked to attract investment and promote the manufacturing industry's high-end, intelligent, and green development, yielding significant results.

The province has approved one national intelligent manufacturing benchmark enterprise, six pilot demonstration projects, nine intelligent manufacturing demonstration factories, and 16 excellent scenario enterprises. Additionally, 51 provincial intelligent manufacturing benchmark projects and 284 pilot demonstration enterprises have been designated.

Furthermore, Taiyuan Heavy Industry Transit Equipment Co has completed the world's first "Global Lighthouse Network" factory for rail transportation equipment, achieving a breakthrough in the province's "Global Lighthouse Network" record.

The department will continue to pool resources to develop a new ecosystem of smart manufacturing, promote the deep integration of industrial internet, big data, and artificial intelligence with manufacturing, and actively drive the construction of smart manufacturing projects in the province.
