The Tasting Jinzhong and Touching China: Beijing Diplomatic Mission's Themed Promotion on "Selected Products of China" was held on Oct 25 at the Liangmaqiao Diplomatic Office Building in Beijing to promote the image and brands of Jinzhong, North China's Shanxi province.

Li Li, director general of Beijing Diplomatic Service, Wang Jianzhong, director of the Standing Committee of Jinzhong Municipal People's Congress, and Marcelo Suárez Salvia, ambassador of Argentina to China, delivered speeches at the event. Wang Bangfu, deputy mayor of Jinzhong, provided an overall introduction to Jinzhong.
Ambassadors from Bolivia, Montenegro, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, and over 150 diplomats from 36 countries and international organizations were invited.

Li emphasized the importance of building bridges between diplomatic missions and the local economy and culture to promote resource sharing. The event showcased Jinzhong's rich specialty products, regional culture, intangible cultural heritage, and profound history, enhancing Jinzhong's opening-up efforts and diplomatic power.
Salvia highlighted the event's role in providing diplomatic missions with firsthand experience of Jinzhong's unique products and culture and enriching the diplomats' selection of goods, hoping for further cooperation between China and Argentina.

The event featured carefully curated exhibition areas showcasing culture and tourism, crafts, beverages, and food. Various regions and development zones of Jinzhong city presented local specialty products and intangible cultural heritage items. From traditional handicrafts to modern industrial products, each booth gave guests a deeper understanding of Jinzhong's traditions and innovations.

Meanwhile, the interactive session allowed guests to taste Jinzhong's specialty products and experience its unique culture. Guests also engaged in discussions with local officials on tourism resources and investment environment, expressing a willingness to strengthen cooperation.
They praised the city's rich cultural heritage and unique folk customs, expressing a commitment to promote Jinzhong internationally and contribute to its international cultural exchanges and cooperation.
