Shanxi attends conferences on grotto temple protection and utilization

The 3rd Yellow River Culture Grotto Temple Alliance Conference and the Academic Exchange Conference on the Protection, Research, and Utilization of Grotto Temples took place in Handan, Hebei province, on Oct 21.
Over 90 people attended, including representatives from 31 member units of the Yellow River Culture Grotto Temple Alliance, experts in grotto temple protection and research, and representatives from the Yellow River Root-Seeking Cultural Alliance and the Tea Road National Protection Unit Cultural Alliance.
The event was hosted by the Yellow River Culture Grotto Temple Alliance, the Handan cultural relics bureau, and the Taiyuan cultural relics bureau.
Yan Ding, vice president of the Yungang Research Institute, highlighted China's significant progress and achievements in the rescue, protection, archaeological research, and utilization of grotto temples in recent years. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the alliance's platform for communication and cooperation to ensure the protection and utilization of grotto temples.
Lian Yingjun, chairman of the Yellow River Culture Grotto Temple Alliance, expressed the alliance's commitment to deepening cooperation in grotto temple protection, academic research, exhibition, information construction, and talent cultivation. The alliance aims to contribute to the promotion and preservation of grotto temple culture in the Yellow River basin.
During the academic exchange conference, experts and scholars from universities such as Peking University, Zhejiang University, and Lanzhou University, as well as research institutes like the Longmen Grottoes Academy and the Yungang Research Institute, shared insights and suggestions on the conservation and promotion of grotto temple culture in the Yellow River basin.
