The first digital geothermal demonstration park was recently unveiled in the Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone in Taiyuan and Jinzhong, North China's Shanxi province.

This marks the integration of geothermal energy and the digital economy industry, injecting strong momentum into the province's green and low-carbon development.

Covering an area of 105 mu (seven hectares) with a building area of 160,000 square meters, the demonstration park incorporates advanced design solutions such as photoelectricity integration, sponge cities, green buildings, and digital geothermal systems to create a zero-carbon park. Emphasizing the integration of technology, culture, and architecture, the park adopts a combination of high and low-rise structures to meet businesses' diverse needs.

The park's establishment represents Shanxi's commitment to the dual-carbon goals and promoting industries led by the digital economy in the Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone.

The park will increase research investment and deepen cooperation with top domestic and international research institutions, universities, and companies. It aims to tackle key technological challenges in geothermal exploration, development, and utilization by using cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing.

By optimizing resource allocation digitally, the park will actively guide and drive the collaborative development of upstream and downstream enterprises in the geothermal industry chain. This aims to promote efficient collaboration across all links of the chain, fostering a mutually beneficial and resource-sharing ecosystem.
